(Nevada City, CA) – The Nevada County Sheriff’s office reports the arrest of 67-year-old Brady Fehr in Nevada City, on 34 counts of animal cruelty, after animal control responded to a complaint of Fehr owning dozens of “Husky type dogs” according to a release, roaming uncontained on Banner Quaker Hill Road. Fehr told animal control officers he owned and operated his own animal rescue called “Mother Lode Husky Haven.”
A search warrant was issued after Fehr was involved in a traffic accident two days later and several dogs were hurt and one killed. 33 dogs were seized, two required emergency vetenairy care, one of which died.
The dogs have since been transported to private facilities for care and boarding. Many are available for immediate adoption. Contact Sammie’s Friends at (530) 471-5041. Sammie’s Friends is also accepting donations to help provide fuel, nourishment and medical care to all the dogs rescued.
