(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A press release yesterday from Yuba Water reports “cutting edge research is coming to Yuba County thanks to a new partnership formed by Yuba Water Agency, the City of Wheatland and the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute.
One of the initial research projects being explored is the use of sensors in levees to monitor pressure during storms and high water events, as well as in roads to monitor traffic to help improve evacuation routes.
Land in Wheatland has been designated for a future research center at the south end of Spenceville Road & Jasper Lane.
