(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A major announcement from the City of Marysville yesterday that their $5-million lawsuit against the owners of the Hotel Marysville has been settled, with the owners handing over ownership and $700,000.
In a statement, Mayor Chris Branscum says they’ll immediately begin the process of applying for a federal EPA grant, “to fund much of the cost to fully remediate the nuisance” and adds that once the property is “cleaned up and fit for development the City will be in a strong position to influence development that is in the best interest of the City.”
The City Manager adds in the release that the immediate plan however, is to get the maximum amount of work done in the shortest amount of time possible, “to restore normal traffic patterns.”
