(YCPD release) –The Yuba City Police Department is currently investigating a tragic vehicle versus pedestrian collision that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

At approximately 8:11 pm on October 28, 2024, officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Bridge Street and Plumas Street. Upon arrival, emergency responders located a 72-year-old male adult with critical injuries. Despite immediate medical attention and the pedestrian being transported to Adventist Rideout Hospital, the pedestrian was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the involved vehicle, a white Lexus ES300h, driven by a 22-year-old male, remained at the scene, and is cooperating fully with the investigators. At this time, impairment does not appear to be a factor; however, the investigation is ongoing.
