(Willows, CA) – CHP-Willows is investigating an Olivehurst woman’s solo-vehicle collision at around 6:00 Saturday evening, resulting in the death of a 5-year-old child, saying alcohol or drugs may have been a contributing factor.
According to a press release, 24-year-old Savannah Dees was driving south on County Road M, south of County Road 27 in northern unincorporated Glenn County, allegedly above the speed limit, when she turned to the west, across the southbound road edge, colliding with a power pole and overtruned “several times.” A 5-year-old in the vehicle was killed and a 2-year-old & 1-year-old sustained minor injuries.
The release does not specify if Dees herself was injured.
