(Yuba County release) — You’ve seen those telephone poles stapled from top to bottom with fliers, and public walkways littered with signage. Yuba County Code Enforcement is tackling illegal signage in County right-of-way, including “snipe signs” attached to poles, trees, or standing freely. These signs cause blight, can pose traffic visibility hazards, and violate littering laws.
Signs in the right-of-way will be removed immediately and depending on the condition, may be stored for 30 days and may be retrieved without a fine.
This campaign also addresses illegally parked vehicles (against the flow of traffic, over a sidewalk, blocking traffic signs, impeding an intersection), which may receive citations or be towed/impounded. Reminder that election signs must also remain on private property and not in the right-of-way!
