(Gridley, CA) – A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the 14-year-old, 8th grader in Gridley who was sexually involved with teacher Michelle Solis, accusing the district of failing to protect the student, claiming that signs of grooming were ignored. That includes that Solis would often “fraternize with male students in her classroom during off periods” and “engaging through text messages and social media messages.” The suit adds Solis was warned about “crossing boundaries with male students” but didn’t pursue more disciplinary actions.
The lawsuit goes on to say Solis “went as far as getting certain students and other staff to write passes for the 14-year-old victim so he could spend time with her alone.”
The district issued a statement to Action News saying that they do not ‘comment on ongoing litigation.”
