(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The City of Marysville has issued a release informing that “a panel of building officials acting as hearing officers in an administrative appeal” have ordered the Hotel Marysville owners to begin the pre-permitting process for demolition. The deadline is a week from today, as the panel ruling is that the city has met its burden of proof, in establishing that the condition of the building is a public nuisance, adding, it presents an imminent threat to the public of bodily harm and a danger to adjacent property.
Permits and proof of a “competent contractor hired” are required by next Monday.
Thereafter, the owners have 60 days to complete demolition. If they fail to do so, the city may also do so, and recover costs by placing a lien on then property.
The panel also upheld a penalty to the owners of $300 a day, which has been accruing since August 1st, according to the release.
