(Sacramento, CA) — California is sending a team of firefighters to Florida as Hurricane Helene moves towards the Sunshine State. Governor Gavin Newsom announced yesterday that seven firefighters from the state’s Urban Search and Rescue Task Force Incident Support Team will be immediately deployed to Florida.
The governor says this won’t have an impact on California’s firefighting and emergency response capabilities. The firefighters will come from search and rescue task forces in San Diego, Sacramento, Riverside, Orange County and Oakland.
