(Colusa County, CA) – Colusa County has settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed five years ago, following Haile Neil’s arrest and subsequent suicide in jail.

Harold Kruger posted to ‘530 Life’ on Facebook that the county is settling for $850,000, “without admitting liability.”

25-years-old at the time, Neil was arrested in February 2019 by a CHP officer after being pulled over for suspicion of DUI, allegedly driving over 100 mph with her hazards flashing. She reportedly became aggressive during her field sobriety test, pulled a concealed dagger and stabbed the officer in the back, causing “non life threshing injuries.”

The lawsuit contended she killed herself over mental health meds while in jail.
