(Auburn, CA) — In the first fentanyl murder case to go to trial in Placer County, a man has been found guilty of causing the death of another person by selling them drugs and has been sentenced to prison. Kade Webb died after taking pills he bought from Carson Schewe.

The court found Schewe guilty of selling the drugs that caused Webb’s death and also possessing illegal drugs. Prosecutors showed videos of Schewe bragging about selling pills on social media and making money from it. They say Schewe and Webb had set up a drug deal in 2021, and after Webb took the pill he bought, he died about an hour later.
