(Sacramento, CA) — Sacramento County families near or below the poverty level can apply for a chance to receive 725-dollars a month for a year. The program aims to keep families together and will focus on Black, Native American, and Alaska Native children.

The support aims to help reduce their high number of interactions with the child welfare system. The high numbers are connected to the historical and ongoing mistreatment of these groups.

The Department of Child, Family and Adult Services will select 200 households to receive the funding. Families can begin applying on September 30th.
