(Magalia, CA) – More details have been released about a Magalia stabbing suspect, in an incident that occurred this past Sunday.
31-year-old Samuel Dickenson had his first court appearance yesterday, and at the request of his attorney, the judge has assigned a psychologist to evaluate his mental competency to stand trial. He’s charged with attempted murder, attempted rape of a child under 10, assault with a deadly weapon and residential burglary.
The D.A. alleges Dickenson, wearing an all black ninja outfit, armed with knives & duct tape, broke into a Magalia home last Sunday night at around 10:40, with the intention of kidnapping an 8-year-old child living there and raping the child. As the grandparents confronted him, Dickenson stabbed and seriously wounded the child’s 70-year-old grandmother and beat and stabbed the 72-year-old grandfather as well.
Both have since been released from the hospital.
Dickenson reportedly became acquainted with the family when they stayed with his family in Durham during the Camp Fire.
