(SCSO release) – On August 1, 2024, The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office conducted probation searches in the river bottoms along the Feather River near Shanghai Bend and Berry Road in Yuba City. With collaboration from the Yuba City Police Department and Sutter County Probation, two subjects were arrested for probation violations and additional charges. 44-year-old Jeremy Sanderlin was arrested for violating his probation with possession of a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of a pepper ball gun, ammunition and a taser. Deputies also recovered a replica Beretta BB-gun in Sanderlin’s camp. Additionally, 36-year-old Bryan Monahan was arrested for violating his probation with possession of a dirk or dagger and possession of a controlled substance.
The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office would like to make a Public Service Advisory to all individuals visiting the river bottoms for recreation. For those who visit the river bottoms, please be aware of your surroundings. Public safety is our main concern, and we frequent the river bottoms on a regular basis, for abatements and proactive enforcement. Our team is actively collaborating with Health and Human Services, the Sutter County Probation and the Yuba City Police Department to ensure the safety of our public along our rivers.
