(Chico, CA) — Thousands of firefighters were battling a fast growing wildfire in northern California on Saturday after the fire more than doubled in size in 24-hours.
The Park Fire has burned more than 350-thousand acres about 90 miles north of the state capital city of Sacramento as of Sunday evening, according to officials. The fire was ten-percent contained, hopefully slowing down with help from cooler temperatures and humid air expected in the region.
Authorities say the fire has destroyed 134 structures. Evacuation orders and warnings were issued for multiple communities in several counties.
