(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – City of Marysville officials are passing along potentially good Hotel Marysville news.

The engineering report was completed three days earlier than expected and has determined that only the top floor is at risk of falling. As well, according to yesterday’s release, this “offers near-term solutions to reopening HWY 70” if a ten foot high debris catch barrier is erected. The City Manager has requested of the District 3 Caltrans Director, that they install such a barrier and convert the southbound lanes to 2-way traffic “as a cost effective near-term solution.”

The city filed suit last week against the Hotel Marysville owner of record, Feather River Plaza LLC, seeking a court order that they address all public safety issues, or give the city permission to do so, at the owner’s expense.
