(Winters, CA) — CAL-OSHA is investigating the firing of six farm workers in Yolo County. The farmworkers were fired in June, after leaving tomato fields in Winters on a 105-degree day.
The group filed a complaint against Ruiz Farm Labor and has the support of the United Farmworkers Union. The union says the workers were starting to suffer from some of the symptoms of heat stress when they decided to leave work.
One worker started having cold shivers and stopped sweating.
