(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Hotel Marysville saga has taken yet another turn for the worse: A report commissioned by the city from Adam Labs of Sacramento has deemed “The entire building an abestos danger zone.”

The report goes on to state that both inside and “debris on the sidewalk outside the building shall be treated as abestos contaminated.” The conclusion, according to a release from the city, is the result of both a visual exam by Adam Labs and physical samples taken from the sidewalk for testing.

The report includes a plan to protect workers and the public from the asbestos in the event of a demolition. The release from the city notes, “the plan is available to the property owners.” It then reiteretes “it is the responsibility of the property owner to abate the threat to public safety” and points out “demolition may not be the only option” saying the city’s hired structrual engineers to conduct an inspection to determine if it “could be shored up.”
