(Sacramento, CA) — A husband and wife are behind bars on suspicion of sex trafficking two 17-year-old girls in North Highlands. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy confronted the girls on a street on Sunday night, and later learned they were being trafficked by family friends.
The Sheriff’s Office says the girls referred to the suspects as their “street parents.” The man and woman are behind bars on felony human trafficking charges. Investigators believe there may be more victims.
