(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The City of Marysville has issued a press release regarding the completion of the engineering report on the structural integrity of the Hotel Marysville, following a fire Saturday night. The reports concludes the building is “at significant risk of failure under normal wind loading and current gravity loads” adding that, “these failures could be catastrophic with little to no warning time.”
As a result, Jackson & Sands Engineering recommends “establishing a perimeter one-and-a-half times the height of the building, in accordance with Cal O.E.S. recommendations, estimated to be 105 feet. Any building within this radius should be protected or evacuated until further notice.”
The Marysville City Council has scheduled a special meeting for tomorrow morning at 9.
