(Wheatland, CA) – Wheatland is gearing up to celebrate its 150th birthday this Saturday, which begins with the 100th Wheatland Pet Parade, followed by the 150th birthday party, starting at noon at the Front Street Park gazebo. There will be a Proclamation Ceremony, cake cutting and “eats from the American Legion.”

Local DJ Billie Croucher, John Wayne and the Old West Cowboy Gang, and a mechanical bull will be on hand, and music provided by Sourdough Slim and classic rock band Industrial Drive headlining the street dance from 6 until 9 that evening.
