(Lake Oroville, CA) – Weekend precipitation has Lake Oroville very near the top, 899 feet – within a foot – and now 99% capacity with officials noting that there’s the potential for “some waves” to splash over the crest of the emergency spillway “if there are any windy days.” DWR also notes that visitors to the dam “may notice minor amounts of water flowing from drains built into the emergency spillway which is normal and expected with the design.” The release adds that this is how “the dam and emergency spillway continue to operate as intended.”

Current outflow is nearly exactly matching inflow in the 11,500 cfs range.
