(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A Loma Rica man has been arrested for alleged poaching, streambed diversion and being a felon in possession of firearms & ammunition, as well as psilocybin mushrooms & meth pipe possession.
A search of James Ledbetter’s Loma Rica property on Los Verjeles Road turned up the rotting carcass of a buck Ledbetter allegedly shot out of season, the creation of a pond without permission, using heavy equipment to widen a portion of South Honcut Creek and a total of 16 firearms along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
The D.A. tells The Appeal-Democrat Ledbetter has pled no contest to one felony count of being a felon in possession of firearms and misdemeanor counts of poaching and diversion of a stream, in exchange for all other charges being dropped. He faces up to a year in jail.
