(Sacramento, CA) — California’s snowpack is just above average for this time of year. Governor Gavin Newsom attended Tuesday’s early April snowpack survey, which is considered the most important survey of the year. The California Department of Water Resources recorded 64 inches of snow depth at Phillips Station, which is along Highway 50 near Echo Summit.

The snowpack includes about 28-and-a-half inches of snow-water content, or a bit more than two-and-a-half-feet of water. That is about 110-percent of the April 1st snowpack average
