(Woodland, CA) — The Woodland Police Department now confirms a three-year-old child was behind the wheel of a truck that hit and killed a two-year-old girl at a gas station.

The owner of the truck left the truck running and was inside the gas station at the time of the deadly incident on Saturday afternoon. The person had left their three-year-old child in a car seat. Somehow, the child got out of the car seat and into the driver’s seat. The truck started to roll and hit the two-year-old girl, who was standing near her parents’ taco stand.

No charges have been filed.
