(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The U.S. Navy Office of Community Outreach is providing an update on Yuba City native Jonathan Avila’s latest assignment: Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 35.
Avila, seven months into his naval career, serves as an aviation structural mechanic.
The HSM 35 Team maintains and flies the MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, the U.S. Navy’s most advanced rotary wing maritime strike platform, designed for targeted strikes on maritime targets, sub hunting & attack, electronic warfare, search & rescue, medical evacuations and supply support.
Avila says “My dad inspired me to join the Navy, he was a combat electrician..serving in the Navy means bringing pride to my last name.”
