(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The former church administrator at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Yuba City has been found guilty in federal court on the remaining two counts of identity theft related to a years-long $360,000 embezzlement scheme.

Citing court documents, The Appeal-Democrat reports 38-year-old Chanell Easton waived her right to a jury trial after pleading not guilty to two counts of aggravated identity theft. Instead, she appeared before a federal judge who found her guilty of using a credit card belonging to the church’s youth minister. She had previously pled guilty to 22 counts of wire fraud.

Easton worked at the church from 2013 to 2018 and now lives in Oklahoma, married to former Marysville Police Chief Aaron Easton, now, a defense attorney according to the paper. She faces a maximum of 440 years and a $5.5-million-dollar fine for the wire fraud charges and a mandatory 4 years for the aggravated identity theft.
