(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – CHP Yuba-Sutter reports the arrest of 50-year-old Larry Lee Anderson Jr. of Plumas Lake for DUI, hit & run and 2nd degree murder. This after a fatal four-vehicle collision Monday evening just before 8:00, on Feather River Boulevard north of Murphy Road.
It began with two, slow moving southbound vehicles. The second vehicle had activated its four-way flashers, when a third vehicle attempted a legal pass. However, at that time, Anderson, behind all three “as a high rate of speed” according to the collision report, attempted to pass between the passing vehicle and the slow-moving vehicles, side-swiping the slower vehicles and rear-ending the passing vehicle. That collision forced it off the road, into a concrete block, killing Shane Bunn of Marysville, according to The Appeal-Democrat.
Anderson fled the scene but was finally arrested “west of the crash scene on the other side of the Feather River,” by a YCSO deputy and CHP officers.
