(Sacramento, CA) — A man is behind bars after leading Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase in North Highlands. But, he may have done more than just run from the law on Saturday night. Investigators believe he may have also been impersonating a deputy.
The man, who was driving a stolen Ford Crown Victoria, a common police vehicle, was also allegedly driving around with a loaded shotgun, an imitation handgun, several Sacramento County Sheriff’s uniforms and other clothing with Sheriff’s insignias.
The Sheriff’s Office says the uniforms belong to a former deputy who has been retired for several years. But, it’s not clear how the suspect got them.
