(Roseville, CA) — A planned Sacramento State University extension in Placer County would include a crime lab.
The Sacramento State Placer Center is slated to be built on 301 acres of land just northwest of Roseville. It will feature academic buildings, a library, a conference center, a performing arts center and a forensic science lab, which could help solve criminal cases in Placer County. It is also expected to ease a backlog in processing evidence. The land is currently open space.
Construction is expected to start later this year or next year, with a grand opening targeted for 2028.
