(Lake Oroville, CA) – The Department of Water Resources has once again opened the Lake Oroville spillway to create flood storage space. That means levels on the Feather River will be somewhat higher than the last few weeks.

Current releases are in the 10-14 thousand cubic feet per second range, with inflow as high as 30,000 cfs. The lake level is currently at 80% capacity, at just over 854 feet, 45 feet from the top.

The Feather River at Yuba City is forecast to rise to 39 feet by this evening, still 18 feet below monitor stage.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento River at Colusa is currently just over 64 feet, a foot-and-a-half below monitor stage and over 5 feet below flood stage. It’s forecast to reach 66 feet by late tomorrow.
