(Salt Lake City, UT) – A former Marysville man and Commander of the USAF California 452 Contingency Response Squadron three years ago, has been indicted by a Utah Grand Jury for allegedly threatening to shoot a Delta Captain in-flight.
Citing federal documents and NBC crews, The Appeal-Democrat reports the incident occurred on an Atlanta to Salt Lake City flight on August 22nd of 2022. 42-year-old Jonathan Dunn, now a Rapid City, South Dakota resident and also a Delta pilot, was a passenger on the flight deck at the time and had been given permission by the TSA to carry a forearm “for security purposes.” A passenger in the cabin of that flight had a medical issue, and when the captain suggested the flight could be diverted to Colorado if necessary, Dunn reportedly said he would shoot the captain “for going crazy.”
If convicted, Dunn faces up to 20 years in prison, meanwhile, Dunn’s lawyers says it was “a joke.”
