(Undated) — Caltrans crews are on the ground making sure road conditions are safe as Northern California gets pummeled by back-to-back atmospheric rivers. Crews up in the Sierra are reportedly working 24-7, continuously monitoring the weather forecast and alerting drivers of chain controls and hazardous driving conditions.

The agency reminds people traveling to the mountains to make sure they have a full tank of gas and carry chains, snacks, blankets and a flashlight in case of an emergency
