(Yuba-Sutter, CA) — Northern Californians are bracing for back-to-back downpours. An atmospheric river is forecast to bring periods of moderate to heavy rain, gusty winds and heavy snow across the Sacramento Valley, including the Yuba-Sutter area and the Sierra through the weekend. Rain will start falling in Sacramento beginning today.

The storm is also expected to boost snow levels by up to two feet. Residents are also being alerted of a second atmospheric storm that slams the region Sunday into early next week.
