(NorCal, CA) – The 2nd Sierra snowpack survey of the season taken yesterday shows some improvement over the first, but still well below the January 30th average of 52%. However, that’s a vast improvement since the New Year’s Day survey of 25%.

There is also significant moisture forecast over the next several days, including 5 feet of snow in the Northern Sierra and 2-3 feet in the Central & Southern Sierra.

Additionally, expect local Yuba-Sutter area river levels to begin rising as officials plan to increase release out of both Lake Oroville & Lake Shasta to create flood storage space in the reservoirs.
