(Undated) — California’s insurance crisis is getting worse as options dwindle. The Hartford Financial Services Group is the latest to stop offering coverage. New policies will no longer be offered to homeowners starting in February. But those with existing plans that meet the company’s underwriting guidelines will be renewed.

Seven of the top 12 insurers in the state have made the same move since 2022, with some citing the risk of wildfires.
