(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Yuba County Elections officials report that a “powder substance” found in the mail yesterday, appearing to have been sent “from a verified agency” according to a statement from the Clerk Recorder, tested positive for fentanyl.
The staffer who opened that piece of mail did not identify it as suspicious, and although exposed to the powder, suffered no poisoning. The Clerk Recorder adds in a statement that the Yuba County Sheriff’s office, along with our local multi-agency task force NET-5 and “state and federal partners” are investigating.
