(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Court, Mario Rasean White, Jr. has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for a shooting in Plumas Lake.
The shooting occurred June 1st of last year, when, at 3:30 in the morning, gunfire “ripped through” a bedroom window where several children were sleeping. No one was injured.
Responding deputies recovered five shell casings “fired from an uncommon 5.7 x 28mm firearm” along with footprints on a utility box next to the home. A guest at the house told investigators she had recently broken up with White Jr., the father of her child, identifying him as a prime suspect.
The Flock Safety license plate reader system placed white Jr.’s vehicle in the area 19 minutes prior to the shooting and social media investigation uncovered a photo of an “FN Five-Seven pistol” he had posted along with a video he had posted about shooting with “his FN.”
He pled no contest to charges last November.
