(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A community meeting is set for this Saturday, providing updated information and seeking public feedback on potential Ellis Lake improvements. The City of Marysville has created the ‘Ellis Lake Master Plan’ as a staffer tells The Appeal-Democrat “The city desires to improve amenities at Ellis Lake in order to develop a regional recreation and tourism venue, provide residents with high quality outdoor recreation activities and promote development/redevelopment in the area.”
Proposed improvements include “a master plan for the lake green space that will provide a conceptual layout and identify features and amenities that would support recreational and economic activity in the surrounding area” according to staff. This comes after the Marysville City Council approved developing that Master Plan last August and in September, authorized a topographic survey and bathymetric survey of the Marysville landmark.
The paper also reports Marysville City Manager Jim Schaad stated major goals of that topographic survey was “the widening of the walking space” around Ellis Lake. At present he said, there is just enough space for one person to comfortably walk, but not for couples or families that want to walk side-by-side.
The public is encouraged to attend a meeting at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, at the Elks Lodge, 920 D St. in Marysville.
