(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A motorcycle chase that began in Yuba City last Friday afternoon, ended with the rider colliding with a train trestle on B Street in Marysville.
The pursuit started when a Yuba City Police officer attempted to pull over 23-year-old Eric Sanchez at Highways 99 & 20, for no license plate and operating in an unsafe manner. Sanchez took off east on HWY 20, but the chase was called off. A YCPD Sergeant tells The Appeal-Democrat that was due to Sanchez exceeding speeds of 80 mph during heavy, mid-Friday afternoon traffic.
However, within a few minutes, Yuba City was notified by the Marysville Police Department that they had Sanchez in custody after he ran a red-light at 14th, north onto B, initially traveling north in the southbound lane. Sanchez then lost control attempting to get into the proper lane, rolling into the center median of the train trestle.
