(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Marysville Police Department reports it will be setting up a DUI checkpoint, at an undisclosed location, tonight from 6:00 until midnight.
Locations of the checkpoints are chosen based on areas “with a history of DUI crashes and arrests” according to a release from MPD. It goes on to say that “impaired drinking is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving” adding, “While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.”
A first time DUI ends up costing over “$13,000 in fines and penalties” the release states, adding, “as well as a suspended license.”
