(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – A Yuba City woman has been convicted of check fraud, after attempting to cash a check for over $24,000 from “a Yuba City based business” at Tri-Counties Bank in Marysville, according to a release from the Yuba County DA’s office.
Bank staff determined that 41-year-old Marissa Musselman’s check was fraudulent and called 911. She was arrested as she tried to leave the bank and the investigation determined the check had been stolen from the mailbox of a business.
While she was originally arrested 2 years ago in November of 2021, Musselman failed to appear in court on six separate occasions. When she finally did have her day in court last Wednesday, the jury found her guilty. Sentencing is now scheduled for November 20th.
Musselman is facing 9 years, 4 months in state prison and will be held at the county jail until sentencing.
