(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Sutter County Sheriff’s office has issued a release announcing they have been awarded a $45,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to support ongoing enforcement and educational efforts to reduce serious injury & fatal collisions.

The grant will fund stepped-up DUI checkpoints & patrols, enforcement of distracted driving, particularly hand-held cell phone use, and enforcement of the top violations which are responsible for the most serious collisions. That includes speeding, running stoplights & stop-signs, failing to yield and improper turns & lane changes.
