(Corning, CA) – The Corning Police Department reports the arrest of 24-year-old Juan Ramon Ramirez. He was wanted for the attempted murder of a 22-year-old whom he allegedly stabbed 5 times, early Saturday morning.

Action News reported an off-duty officer spotted Ramirez. in Chico yesterday. The officer followed him back to Tehama County, providing his location to an on-duty officer, who arrested Ramirez without incident after a felony traffic stop.

Ramirez was booked for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, battery of a spouse and violating a domestic violence court order.
