(Colusa County, CA) – The Colusa County Sheriff’s office reports that early Monday afternoon at around 2:00, dispatch received a call reporting a woman wearing a robe over an orange jail jumpsuit was flagging motorists down for a ride at the intersection of East Webster & B Streets in the City of Colusa. Responding deputies were unable to locate her.
Shortly after, they were contacted by the Glenn County Sheriff’s office asking for assistance in locating 34-year-old Brittany Glass. She is an escaped inmate, who walked out of the Colusa Regional Medical Center where she had been taken for treatment of “an acute medical emergency from a pre-existing condition” on the 21st, according to a press release from the Glenn County Sheriff’s office.
While deputies were en-route to pick Glass up from the medical center, she “walked out and absconded from custody.” The release notes she is a non-violent offender and was booked for misdemeanor drug charges, possession of stolen property and probation violation.
