(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba Water Agency’s Board of Directors has voted to commit $200,000 toward the North Yuba Water District’s efforts to upgrade the Forbestown Ditch. Specifically, construction of a new, inverted siphon to replace the existing, deteriorating wooden ‘Hell for Stout Flume” that delivers water for residential & ag use.

A recent engineering inspection determined that it is near – if not at – the end of its service life, due to severe timber rotting & leaks. Yuba Water had previously provided $400,000 to the North Yuba Water District for engineering and analysis of the state of the flume, most of which will now go toward constructing its replacement.
