(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba County Sheriff’s office reports an arson arrest in Plumas Lake. Deputies responded last Friday night to a call for “a mental health concern” according to a release. As they arrived on the scene at Secret Lake Trail, two homes were on fire and the Linda Fire Department was called.

Although no one was injured, multiple residents were displaced.

The on-site investigation determined 44-year-old Josh Cassell started the fires. He was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation and medical clearance.

Upon release, Cassell was booked for arson, battery of emergency personnel and obstruction of justice.
