(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Today’s first day of school in the Marysville School District includes the first class of 20 incoming high school freshmen to “The Academy,” an alternative option modeled after the nationally-recognized Middle College. It will allow “highly motivated students to accelerate their 4 years high school and 2 year associate’s degree college completion.”

The students will attend class at Yuba College, completing 3 periods of high school courses each day, followed by UC & CSU transferable college course the remainder of the school day.
