(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Court, the Olsen brothers of Lincoln have been sentenced in the Thanksgiving Day 2021 murder and subsequent dumping of Robert Mendoza’s body in Wheatland.

60-year-old Carl Olsen received 15 years in state prison for the shooting and killing, and 63-year-old Eric Olsen was given 2 years for assaulting Mendoza with a metal club prior to the murder, and helping his brother dump the body off Spenceville Road. The body was discovered the next day by a man walking his dog.

Witnesses told investigators the violence began with the Olsen brothers confronting Mendoza regarding his stealing a firearm from them, according to a release from the Yuba County DA’s office.
