(Sacramento, CA) — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has agreed to a debate with California Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom’s aide in Sacramento says a formal request for a debate was sent last week. A date is not set yet, but possible options include November 8th or 10th. DeSantis is the second keynote speaker for the California Republican Party’s convention next month and is running for president in 2024.

Newsom repeatedly has said he is not running for president.
